Rules Of The Game
[back] [Deutsch]1.Participating
If you want to take part in the Live-Wintersport or Live-Radsport Game, you first have to register a Username, then select the discipline and the event and the game can begin.= This is a current Game and you can participate.
= You have already delivered your tip.
= This Game is finished and you cannot participate anymore. You normally have to set 5 sportsmen, sportswomen or teams on positions one to five. Points will be awarded, if you get the exact result, but also for tips outside of the top 5 (until 15th place at most).
2.Delivering your tips
You can select the competitors from a Drop-Down menu. It is possible to place a starter on several different positions. The number (in brackets) following the names mirrors the starters' estimated power factor. The bigger the factor, the lower are the chances of this starter. The gained points for this starter will be multiplied with the respective factor in the end. (See point 5 for further informations).2.1.List of Competitors
Please notice, that the available lists of competitors are not identical with the starting list for a particular event. The lists are general ones for the respective discipline. Therefore it is very well possible, that some of the named competitors might not participate. We therefore advice you to look at the link "race information" for more information. Everybody, has some information, which aren't on the site, can mention them in the forums. This fair gesture would be highly appreciated by everybody and a great contribution to our community.3.Evulation
Correct tip (Winner): 5 points
Correct tip on exact position (Place 2-5): 3 points
Correct tip but not on exact position (Place 2-5): 2 points
Athlete finishes somewhere from place 6 to 10: 1.5 points
Athlete finishes somewhere from place 11 to 15: 1 pointIf there are less than 25 participants, only the competitors, who finish in the top 10, will count.
If there are less than 10 participants, only the competitors, who finish in the top 5, will count.
4.Bonus
In some events the sportsmen or sportswomen have a power factor, which can change during the season.Factor 1: Favourites
Factor 2
Factor 3: Outsiders
Factor 4: Extreme outsiders5.Power factor
The gained points will be multiplied with the competitor's power factor. If for example a cross-country skier from group 4 (factor 4) will finish 6th, it means there will be 1.5points x 4 = 6 points for this competitor.6.Time Bonus
With our new system, we want to reward players, who deliver their tips early on, with a bonus. That means, that at the beginning of the game, there will be a bonus-factor of 1.4. This factor counts backwards to 1.0 at the last possible time for delivering your tip. Player, who wait until the last minute, have the advantage, that they might have additional information about the competitors' power and health condition, which a player with an earlier tip doesn't have. They also can look at the earlier players' tips and therefore influence their own one. Therefore the time bonus is meant as a little poker-game, in which you'll have to estimate if it will be more useful to give your tips sooner or later. The factor will not always be the same and will not be used at every game.Advantages for those, who deliver their tips earlier:
- The points will be multiplied with the time bonus factor. The maximal possible number of points therefore is higher.Advantages for those, who deliver their tips later:
- The starting lists are probably available.
- Sudden withdrawals because of injuries can be included in your tip.
- You can analyze and include the other players' tips.7.Bonus Question
At most games will be a bonus question, where you have to estimate. The answer is alsways a number, which could include a numeral behind the decimal point. The player or the players who are closest to the result, will get four bonus points.8.Evulation
For every competition there will be a ranking, during which Live-Cup points will be awarded. (Comparable to the Ski-Worldcup). This points will be taken over to the categories, tours and overall rankings.
